Persvasive writeng

To Persuade mean to tell something.

I wrote it because i want to read in class wen ever i want . I wrote it because it helps me to learn new language.

Audience: Ms. Rhead 5R
Issue: I would like to read in class whenever I want.
Claim: Reading books helps me to learn a new language and it doesn’t damage my eyes.

Dear Ms Rhead,

In my opinion, reading books helps people to learn new vocabulary. When I read a book maybe the pages have some words that I don't know. When you’re reading you can translate the language and then you understand the words.

Some people believe that reading doesn’t help to learn new vocabulary but they are wrong. NOW WE CAN SOLVE THIS PROBLEM BY JUST SAYING READING HELPS YOU TO learn new vocabulary...

Another reason for suggesting more class reading time is that reading is better for your eyes than technology. For example, I came back from PE and you said it's tech time and I replied, ‘oh no I don't like tech time.’ I asked you if I can read and you said that I can't read so I argued that tech hurts people’s eyes. Finally, you said, ‘ok, you can read.’ Do you really think looking at a bright screen for hours is good for children? Surely you know that we need a break?

My third reason for requesting more time to read is that reading is fun because of the pictures. The pictures help you to learn new words because you can use them to understand more words. For example, I saw the word ‘skated’ and I looked at the picture and I knew it was a verb. 

I believe reading will improve my English and it will give me more ideas, imagine more and be a better writer.

To conclude, I love reading because it’s fun and interesting and cool and I wish that you would let me read more.I hope I have convinced you that reading is better than tech time.

Remember, reading is quiet and relaxing
